Getting a good nights sleep is a fine balance. Check out our good sleep guide below to aid a restful night slumber.
5 Easy Ways To Improve Your Sleeping Pattern
#1. Create a Haven
Make sure your environment is just right to help you to sleep.
Ensure the temperature is cool and the room is dark and quiet. Making the room as inviting as possible will get you in the mood to snooze.
Avoid sitting in bed on your phone or laptop. By the time you get into bed, you should have switched off from all external factors and be ready to fall asleep.
Use a sleeping mask if you need it completely dark. Sleep time pillow sprays can also help!
#2. No Naps
Sis, stop with the naps.
If you must then keep them under 30 minutes.
Naps can interfere with your sleeping pattern if taken too late in the day so are best avoided.
#3. Let’s Get Physical
Daily exercise will help you drift off when it comes to bedtime.
A simple daily walk can really help. But if you can, go hard and go for a HIIT.
Make sure you undertake it way before bedtime as you don’t want the extra energy just before bed.
#4. Eat Right At Night
Avoid heavy meals a couple of hours before bed as this could keep you up.
Also, avoid alcoholic drinks as they are known to leave you feeling restless.
#5. Define Your Worries
Going to bed feeling anxious and/or worried can have you pillow tossing all night.
Before bed try a ‘brain dump’ and jot your thoughts down onto paper.
This is a way of offloading what’s on your mind and the act of writing them down might even show you they aren’t as bad as you thought.
Either way, we need them out of your head to ensure you’re in dreamland asap!
