5 Signs You’re In A Situationship

It’s never a nice feeling when you realise your relationship is slowly fizzling out. Most of the time we avoid it instead of facing up to it. Instead of being realistic we tell everyone “it’s just a bad patch, all relationships have them”, “it will get better”, “we’re going to see how it goes”.

Chances are you’ve been in this place once or twice before. If you’re not sure, here are some possible signs. Honestly, it’s best to nip these signs in the bud, and put 100% into the relationship, or bite the bullet and call it a day.

#1 You don’t want to introduce them to your friends

A major part of being in a relationship is them getting along with the most important people in your life, AKA friends and family. If you don’t want to introduce them to those people then you have to think why? It’s more than likely that you don’t see your future with this person.

#2 You stop going on dates

When you go from dating to Netflix and chill it’s never a good sign. You have to ask yourself are you prepared to put valuable time aside for this person?

#3 You can’t be bothered texting back

One of the biggest battles we face in a relationship is communication, we’re usually the ones desperate for a text back and wondering why they haven’t spoken to us. When the shoe is on the other foot you’ve got to wonder whether it’s really worth it.

#4 There is no sign of your relationship on social media

Ahhhhhh social media, the root of all evil… Social media being the answer to whether your relationship is strong or not. However weigh up how long you have been in a relationship with this person, and whether you want the outside world knowing about it or not? Surely you want to show your partner off to the world? If you’re happy and committed?

#5 You avoid discussing the future

If you’re in a relationship and you’re happy then planning the future together should be fun and exciting, with no hesitation on how far away a plan may be. If you’re avoiding discussing the future then this should set alarm bells ringing? Life is too short to waste time.

Be honest with each other and do the right thing, put both of you out of your misery. There is still a chance for you to remain friends before it gets sour. It’s nobodies fault, sometimes it just isn’t meant to be.
