How To Boost Mindfulness

Life can be so fast-paced at times that it can be so easy to forget to press pause and really be present in the moment. Let’s face it, we’ve probably all been guilty of being on our phones when someone’s talking to us or juggling so many different tasks at once, that we don’t really get the chance to take a minute to be mindful.

So, if you’re looking for ways to connect more with both your feelings and your body, we’ve put together some of our favourite ways to boost mindfulness below.

#1 Meditation

Whether it’s first thing in the morning or just before you go to bed, taking time to meditate can really help to be more mindful. It will help you focus on your body and your breathing, allowing you to de-stress and relax. Take some time to listen to your body doll, you deserve it.

#2 Focus on one thing at a time

It’s easy to start multitasking without even noticing we’re doing it. It also means more often than not, we’re not giving something our full attention. Try focusing on one thing at a time and becoming more aware of when you start to multitask. This way you’ll be able to notice when your thoughts start to wonder and you can get them back on track and start smashing through that to-do list.

#3 Go for a walk

If like most people, you’re working from home at the moment, going for a walk is one of the best ways to be more mindful. Not only will it do wonders to get some fresh air, but by focusing on your breathing, the environment around you and how your body moves, you’ll instantly feel more present.

#4 Be mindful towards others

It’s important that we’re not only taking a second to be mindful to ourselves but towards others too. Whether it’s texting your bestie to see how they’re feeling or doing a random act of kindness for a complete stranger, taking time to do a selfless act for someone else will instantly boost your mood.

#5 Take regular breaks

Make sure you’re listening to your brain and recognise when it needs a rest and refresh. Whether it’s going for a walk or simply going to make a drink, giving yourself regular breaks is so important.
