So, we may be getting ahead of ourselves here, but now London Fashion Week is over, we’re already lusting over some of the SS’15 collections and pre-planning our beauty essentials for next spring. So, in the name of pre-season preparation we’ve rounded up our favourite beauty looks from LFW.
Just like the simple silhouettes, sporty fabrics and flat shoes on the catwalk, next season’s hair and makeup looks were all about wearable, understated beauty.
The red lips at the Topshop Unique show were smudged and paired with bedhead waves and “done at the bus stop” eye makeup, while Wendy Rowe patted red lips with translucent powered to soften harsh lines at the Burberry Prorsum show.
Messy waves were all over the catwalks, and looked especially amazing reimagined into centre-parted mermaid hair at Mary Katrantzou. At Jonathan Saunders, Luke Hersheson’s team created baked zig-zags with hair straighteners to give the hair a messier and tougher wave than the soft, romantic ones we usually see!
But…the look that EVERYONE was raving about has to be Tom Ford’s rock chick, with matte, shaggy hair and metallic, smoky eyes. This is an easy hair look to recreate, working best on day-old hair with a slight kink and LOTS of dry shampoo! Work the hair powder into the ends as well as the roots for that rough, matte texture!
