How To Feel Less Anxious When It Comes To The Gym
Firstly, lets talk gym anxiety, trust us – everyone struggles with this at some point!
It could be that you are attending the gym for the first time and are not quite sure where to start when it comes to the machinery or maybe you are worried it’s all eyes on you… Thing is, everyone has to start somewhere!
Here are some tips that will help overcome those fitness fears:
#1. Sign up to a class, having an instructor talk you through might help. Similarly to this if you think personal training might work out better for you then look into that option.
#2. Could you find a gym buddy? Maybe ask a friend if they would be willing to try out the new class with you.
#3. Wear clothes you feel 100% comfortable working out in.
#4. Playlists! Seriously, make yourself a playlist to get you pumped and hold your focus.
#5. Try to remember nobody is judging you, everyone is there for the same reason.

Fitness Influencers To Follow
Thanks to social, we can have endless fitness influencer inspo on demand! It could be that you’ve spotted someone doing a particular workout at the gym and would like to do something similar, are on the lookout for abit of extra encouragement or even if you just want some additional fitness inspo on the daily.
From meal prep to routines – here are some of the fitness influencers we are loving ATM!
Easy Workout Inspo
Lunges
Begin by standing with your feet shoulder-width apart and arms down at your sides.
Take a step forward with your right leg and bend your right knee as you do so, stopping when your thigh is parallel to the ground. Ensure that your right knee doesn’t extend past your right foot.
Push up off your right foot and return to the starting position. Repeat with your left leg. This is one rep.
Complete 10 reps for 3 sets.
Squats
Start by standing straight, with your feet slightly wider than shoulder-width apart. Ensure your arms are at your sides.
Brace your core, keep your chest and chin up then push your hips back and bend your knees as if you’re going to sit in a chair.
Ensuring your knees don’t bow inward or outward, drop down until your thighs are parallel to the ground. Bringing your arms out in front of you in a comfortable position.
Pause for one second, then extend your legs and return to the starting position.
Complete 3 sets of 20 reps.
Burpees
Start by standing upright with your feet shoulder-width apart and your arms down at your sides.
With your hands out in front of you, start to squat down. When your hands reach the ground, pop your legs straight back into a pushup position.
Jump your feet up to your palms by hinging at the waist. Get your feet as close to your hands as you comfortably can.
Stand up straight, bringing your arms above your head and jump.
This is one rep. Complete 3 sets of 10 reps.
Be sure to remember to only workout as much as you feel comfortable doing so.
