Get scrolling to find all the help you need when it comes to post-lockdown budgeting.

Be Realistic

Whilst we’re so excited for life to go back to normal, the last thing you want is to stretch yourself too thin when it comes to money.

If you’re worried about you’re spending, make sure you have a good idea of your finances each month.

So, be aware of how much money you spend on things like bills, food shops and necessities each month and then budget with whatever you have left over, but make sure you’re being realistic with the budgets you set.

Sometimes, it might even be better to overestimate how much you’re going to spend so anything left over is an added bonus.

Set Up A Post-Lockdown Fund

If you feel like you’ve got lot’s of plans coming up this summer, setting aside money in advance could really help.

It might be a good idea create a post-lockdown pot on apps such as Monzo so you can keep this money separate from your current account or savings account.

It’s essentially a online banking version of a piggy bank so you’ll have money set aside for all your plans and won’t be tempted to dip into your pot.

All About Savings

If you’ve managed to save during lockdown, that is amazing!

Try keep up the routine of putting money into your savings but don’t get too down if you can’t match the amount you’ve been putting away each month during lockdown.

Even if you put half of the amount a month you’ve been saving, that’s still so good.

Putting a percentage of your pay into your savings is always better than nothing, no matter how big or small.

Prioritise Your Plans

We definitely all get FOMO from time to time which is completely normal, especially after the year we’ve had.

However, just because things are opening up again, it doesn’t mean you have to say yes to everything.

If you’re sticking to a budget then prioritising your plans is a good idea.

Budget for the things you know you really want to go to and don’t feel pressured to say yes to the things you’re on the fence about.
