What To Do This Weekend If You’re In Lockdown

Lockdown 2.0 getting you down? Babe, we feel you.

Now the UK has gone back into a full lockdown, we’re no longer heading out to bottomless brunch or a Saturday shopping sesh with our besties, but that doesn’t mean your weekends have to be spent staring at four walls and watching re-runs of old TV shows.

What To Do This Weekend If You’re In Lockdown

Put your mind and body to good use and peep below some fun ideas to do this weekend during lockdown!

LEARN A NEW SKILL

It might seem trivial, but lockdown is the perfect time to learn a new skill.

Not only will it occupy your mind and keep you from getting bored, you may find that you’re amazing at whatever it is you’re learning.

Learning to do your own nails is a fab skill to master, especially when we don’t know when we can next get into the salon – holds back the tears x

Whether you’re ordering a gel nail kit or enrolling in a course with a pro (these are still allowed!) freshen up those nails girl.

WASH YOUR MAKEUP BRUSHES

The job we all hate to do but offers the most reward – cleaning your makeup brushes.

It can be such a boring task, especially when those bristles seem to be stained with the ghost of foundations past, but the bacteria that can build up in your beauty tools is shocking.

Influencer and makeup artist @jamiegenevieve has an amazing technique of using a kitchen sieve to clean her makeup brushes and it is a GAME CHANGER.

Grab a bar of soap, put Netflix on and get to cleaning those brushes!

ORGANISE YOUR WARDROBE

Organising your wardrobe is an incredible way to cleaning out your mind as well as your room.

With us now entering into the colder months, it’s the perfect time to pack away your summer ‘fits and reintroduce chunky knits to your rotation.

You won’t even realise how much stuff you have until you take the time to go through it, you may even find pieces you thought you’d lost or no longer even wear.

Whether you’re donating, selling or storing for another season, organising your wardrobe is a fab way to spend your lockdown weekend.

DECORATE FOR CHRISTMAS

Now we KNOW it’s only November, but if there’s any year to decorate early for the festive season then it’s this year.

You don’t have to deck the halls, but adding fairy-lights to your window or even putting the tree up will transform your home massively.

Grab everyone in your household, get out some decorations and revamp your space into your very own Winter wonderland!

WFH has never been so appealing when you’ve got a Christmas tree next to you and a festive candle burning at your desk.

UPCYCLE

Maybe there’s a piece of furniture that doesn’t match your interior goals or there’s a chip on your dresser, why not give your furniture some TLC?

Upcycling can be so therapeutic and leaves you with a product that you love! (hopefully…)

Whether you’re changing the handles on your wardrobe or adding a fresh lick of paint to your bedside table, upcycling your space is one of the most rewarding tasks to do when you’re staying in.

Have a nosy on the ‘gram and Pinterest and get inspired by some mega homeware glow-ups.
