Today we’re catching up with US based, Karely Quintero.
Hey Karley, could you start by telling us a bit about yourself please?
My name is Karely Quintero, I’m currently finishing my Bachelor of Arts in communications at Arizona State University.
With the New Year, do you have any 2023 goals in mind?
In 2023 my goals are to keep doing what I’m doing, finish school, keep up with content creation and take extra care of my health.
Any advice for anyone trying to stick to a new goal or even a New Year resolution?
Some advice is, keep trying.
Yes, there will be some days that are tough, you want to give up but keep going! Be your own hype person!
Writing down the goal or resolution will help you stick to it.
Even on those days when you’re feeling down, writing it out will help you get motivated again.
How about a 5 year plan? Or are you more of a “see what happens” kind of vibe?
My 5-year plan is to see what happens, going with the flow.
The other half is going for a masters, saving up for a house, vacation and trips.
Is there a way you prioritize one or the other?
One solution, A PLANNER!
What I do is every Sunday I sit down and plan my week and see when I have free time for myself, family/friends and when I have time for school.
It’s a strategy that works for me, that way I see how my week goes and that way I am not cramming too many things all at once.
Do you have any advice on meeting new people/making new friends?
Be yourself! That’s one thing I learned, just be me. I never was one who changed who I was for anyone.
People are easier to talk to than we think. It’s okay to get nervous, we all do. Just asking questions can spark a whole conversation!
How about any study tips that work well for you?
A playlist! I noticed that with good music, good vibes, good tunes, for some reason I become more effective.
Perhaps it takes the stress away from the assignment but it does get me motivated.
Maybe a hack you’ve found that helps when needing to get work done.
Turn off your phone! I know it’s hard even for me… But it is beneficial!
Trust me once that phone is put away I noticed that I can concentrate and get things done.
Then I can log on to social media hehe!
Now for fashion!
If you were to describe your student style in 3 words, what would they be?
Edgy. Creative. Rebellious.
Is there a fashion trend you’re loving at the moment?
A fashion trend I’m loving at the moment are long denim skirts!
You can create endless outfits with a nice long skirt. Everyone needs one in their closet.
It’s that one piece that you can dress it up or down effortlessly. It’s so edgy but yet can be sophisticated at the same time.
You’re heading to class (think Monday morning vibes), what are you wearing?
Monday class outfit is a nice long denim skirt, chunky white sneakers and a cute white or cream sweater.
Paired with my tote bag and of course my day is not complete without my morning coffee!
If heading out, what’s your go-to outfit?
If I’m heading out my go to outfit is a matching set! I love matching sets. It makes getting ready so easy.
I love a nice pair of pants and a matching shirt set. You can style them so many ways!
Do you have an ultimate ‘fave ‘fit? Something you could repeatedly restyle and not get bored of?
My favorite fit is a nice mini skirt, chunky boots paired with a cute top. It’s a classic!
This three-combo fit can be styled so many ways, add a nice leather jacket, throw in a crop top or add a corset belt. Endless looks all year long.
What’s your go-to coffee order?
My go to is simple! Hot vanilla/cinnamon latte with oat milk!
Is there a student spot that you’d recommend to go?
Anywhere you go in Downtown Phoenix you are filled with art, creativity and inspiration!
The hot spot to go right now is Kahvi Coffee + Café! It’s a coffee shop, it’s an art gallery, it’s a store.
It’s the perfect place to study, hang out with friends because it has such a cool yet cozy vibe.
