We’re all the way into festival season and we’ve stumbled across a little festival with a lot of “Bounce” you need to get on your radar!
Bounce is a new festival for all you party-goers out there and it’s set in Marrakech, Morocco, so think vibrant and get yourself ready for this four week DJ takeover!
We’ve been speaking to the uber cool and always stylish DJ Charlie Hedges, who’s headlining the third week of the festival, about what’s in store for her this summer, the threads she’ll be wearing on stage and the songs she’ll be playing at the festival!
Hi Charlie! Are you excited to play Bounce Festival?
I’m really looking forward to it, I played in Marrakech 2 years ago and had an amazing time so looking forward to going back!
What’s your summer anthem at the moment?
I’m loving David Zowie’s “House Every Weekend” of course and Valentino Khan’s “Deep Down Low” plus Jacob Plant’s new one “Hunger”, but I think you guys should definitely look out for Avicii’s remix of Fathless’ classic “Insomnia”, it adds a nice current deep house feel to the original.
Top tips for packing?
Work out your outfits before you’ve even set foot on the plane. I always write down the days I’m away for on paper/phone notes before I pack and then decide on what exactly I’ll be wearing on those days, it saves you over-packing and also stops you fussing on holiday as you have all your outfits already sorted and laid out for you – more room for hair straighteners, makeup and other products then!
Summer wardrobe essential?
I love wedges, they go with jeans, dresses, shorts, bikinis…basically anything.
Top PrettyLittleThing picks for festival season?
Definitely a jumpsuit, my fave on PrettyLittleThing at the minute is the Cora Black Cross Front Jumpsuit – it doesn’t matter if it rains, you get muddy, it’s hot…whatever the weather, you can team it up with some boots, throw a mac or waterproof over the top and it’ll still look great. Also you need a Letty Black Suede Bucket Bag to match and a big chunky necklace like the Mitzi Aqua Collar Necklace.
What’s in store for you for the rest of the summer?
I’m soooo excited I’ve got some amazing gigs coming up from Ibiza to of course Marrakech, Kavos, all over the UK including Aberdeen with judge Jules, Cardiff, Sheffield, Leeds, Manchester and London! Plus I’ve had so much fun up until now this year too playing alongside Paul Oakenfold in the Big Top Tent at Isle of Wight Festival as well as kicking off my Ibiza season in Eden for Judgement Fridays. I’m also working on some of my own music so look out for that, plus my ‘Charlie Hedges Presents’ monthly podcast on iTunes and Soundcloud – I have some exciting interviews lined up for those too!
