What do you love best about being a mum?

I love watching my son learn new things – it’s definitely the smallest things that make you smile and you’re so proud of everything they do. It’s the greatest job in the world.

The biggest challenges you’ve faced since becoming a mum?

The hardest thing is trying to have the right balance of time for everything. I went straight from living with my parents to moving into our first home with my partner and son. So finding the right balance of time spent caring for your child, house work, you time and time with your partner can be hard! It gets easier as time goes on but this can definitely be a challenge to try and fit everything into one day.

The best bit advice you’ve ever been given or biggest piece of advice you’d give to a new mum?

Ensure you have time to yourself, either on your own or with your partner or friends – even just getting out and going for a walk. Taking that time out makes you feel so much better!

Who are your biggest role models? Where do you find your strength?

My biggest role models are my partner & my parents. My partner has been the best dad to our little boy and he helps to motivate me everyday. He is a hard worker and is always there for me through everything. The bond he has with our little boy is so strong. We all have bad days but he will always be the one to cheer me up and motivate me! My parents are also my role model as I have been so lucky to grow up in such a loving home and environment. They have always worked hard and been the best parents anyone could ask for. My strength is found in the love I have for my son and all of my family, every one of them supports me and is always there if I need anything. I look up to all of them as my role models.

Has to be buying my son a toy Hoover to help with housework!

Describe being a mum in 3 words.

Loving, rewarding and joyful.

What’s the most embarrassing mum moment you’ve had?

This has to be when he decides to just sit in the middle of the path when we go for walks! He doesn’t like to move out of the way and throws a tantrum if I try to move him.

How do you feel you have you changed as a person since becoming a mum?

I feel like I have changed a lot but it’s all for the best. I have become so much more confident in myself and give less care to what others think. All I want to be is a positive role model to my son and teach him to love himself and not compare yourself to others.

If you could tell your pre-baby self anything, what would it be?

Just be yourself!

What do you wish for your child for the future?

All I wish is for him to be happy, he is loved by so many people and I hope he follows his dreams and knows that we will support him with anything he does.
